Saanich Archives
Saanich Archives collects and preserves archival and reference material relating to the Municipality of Saanich and the community as a whole and makes these records available to the public. We welcome donations of photographs and other records that document the heritage of Saanich.
We are located in a purpose built facility inside the Saanich Centennial Library at 3100 Tillicum Road (next to Pearkes Recreation Centre).
Visitors are welcome to browse through the reference room material which includes books on BC history, pioneer files, photographs and maps, city directories, oral histories, and exhibits. Archival records are stored on-site in a climate controlled vault.
Over 4,000 photographs from our collection can now be searched online, thanks to generous funding from the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at UBC and the Municipality of Saanich.
We welcome inquiries from everyone with an interest in Saanich history and look forward to helping you with your research.
