Camp Temagami is a canoe tripping camp for boys and girls aged 10 to 18. For over 75 years, our island has been the origin and destination of canoe trips ranging from overnight to five weeks in length. It has been known under the names Camp Pays d'en Haut and Camp Wigwasati and now as Camp Temagami. Our highly qualified and experienced guides help campers grow as canoe trippers, as part of the community, and as young women and men. Camp Temagami is located on an 20-acre island at the top of the southwest arm of Lake Temagami, Ontario. For over 100 years the region of Temagami has been a canoe-tripping destination based on its remote location 5 hours north of Toronto and its extensive network of lakes and rivers just a short paddle away. Our Camp's focus is on canoe tripping. Our campers have the opportunity to develop skills in decision-making, risk mitigation and initiative while being exposed to values that encourage an appreciation of the environment and others that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
