The YMCA of Stratford Youth Centre
The Youth Centre is a safe, comfortable, fun space for youth to come and hang out with friends. Some of what we do here: play pool, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart and various silly board games, listen to music and sing karaoke, share a free dinner every Thursday, get help with writing a resume, get on Facebook on the computers, play some instruments, write some poems, make some art.
The staff at the Youth Centre all bring unique talents that they share with the kids that come in. The atmosphere is accepting and non-judgemental. A YC Crew of dedicated regular youth helps make decisions and hold others accountable for their actions. We treat every youth with love and respect and aim to empower them to succeed by talking and listening to them, making referrals, and giving them outlets to express themselves positively and creatively.
We are always looking for adult volunteers to help us in the work we do. Donations of food, toiletries, socks and gloves, and cash are always needed and gratefully accepted. For more information, please contact Maureen McLaughlin.
