Fort Rose Maple Company
Fort Rose Maple Company is a family owned and operated business. Specializing in the production of pure maple syrup and value added maple products. Maple Syrup is sold year round from the sugar house, seven days a week.
Complementing the maple operation is a Pancake House with a buffet style setting. Brunch includes pancakes, sausage, maple baked beans, coleslaw, muffins, fruit salad and pure maple syrup.
Pancake House is open every Saturday and Sunday starting the last weekend in February and the full month of March. During the week the Pancake House may be booked for group tours and breakfast meetings.
Tours of the Sugar House, sugar bush and family farm are accommodating to the whole family. The Sugar House is open for sales and tours year round, seven days a week. We have a large, gravel parking lot for easy access.
Syrup making has been a family tradition that started by our Grandfather in the mid 1940's. McLachlan Brothers Nelson, Colin and Lawrence revived the family tradtion of making syrup about 1980 by tapping a small number of road side trees. By 1990 the small operation had turned into a commercial operation. In 1992, a name change from McLachlan Brothers to Fort Rose Maple Company accompanied by the new Sugar House and Pancake House to better server our growing business.
The operation has grown into a 7000 plus tap operation. We use both pails and pipe line for collecting sap. The sap is boiled on a 5 x 14 wood fired evaporator. The Sugar House is located up at the farm yard for easy access.
