Midland Cultural Centre
The Building:
The Centre will be a two-storey building. It is being designed by Howard Rideout, Architect, and will be constructed by local business Innovative Home Design.
The building has a frontage on King St. of approximately 66’ and a depth on Elizabeth St. of approximately 218’ and will have a total useable floor area of approximately 37,000 square feet.
The Uses:
The Centre will house, as primary tenants, the Quest Art School & Gallery (“Quest”) and the Huronia Players community theatre group. The theatre for Huronia Players will seat 120 patrons. Rehearsal spaces and storage areas will also be provided. In addition, there will be an Event Centre that will seat 240 persons, a café, workshops, classrooms, and meeting spaces. An elevator will provide access to the second and third floors.
The Centre will be used for programs of Quest and Huronia Players, theatrical training and performances, art galleries, instruction in fine arts, art appreciation events, the hosting of various community and private events, receptions, meetings and workshops.
