Rideau Woodland Ramble Inc. This unique garden centre and display gardens are open to the public at 210 Burritt’s Rapids Road, County Rd 23, and is situated on 7 acres of picturesque woodland. Its mission is to capture the imagination of gardeners and plant collectors by showcasing and selling highly sought after hosta, grasses, conifers, magnolias, Japanese Maples and a wide range of shrubs, small trees and perennials. Rideau Woodland Ramble capitalizes on 30 years of collecting and developing gardens containing unique plant material for eastern Ontario. The acreage features dramatic and mature display gardens demonstrating these plants thriving in a variety of zones and conditions. The Ramble was selected a top destination nursery in 2005 by Gardening Life Magazine and was listed as one of Canada’s top 20 nurseries by Canadian Gardening Magazine in 2010. Also in 2010, the Ramble was named the favourite gardening destination by a survey of all readers of the Eastern Ontario Gardeners’ Tour Guide. It was recently featured in the new Garden Making Magazine, which hailed it “a destination garden worth the drive!” In 2012 the Ramble adds a Pavilion showcasing art, and offering coffee/tea to visitors.
