The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital
Guelph General Hospital has been providing quality, patient-centred care to our community for more than 130 years. Guelph General Hospital cared for over 100,000 members of our community last year, for reasons from x-rays and MRI scans to emergency department visits and surgery.
Guelph General Hospital has depended on the support of the community since its beginnings in 1875 – as it does today.
Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care funding (our tax dollars) does not cover all capital costs. In fact, no money is provided to buy most equipment.
Last year, one of every two dollars the Hospital spent on equipment came from donor support!
In the last 20 years, close to $35 million has been donated.
