Draconic Bytes
Hello! My name is Kia Skretteberg I am the Web Designer at Draconic Bytes and also the creator of the little Character Guide you see on all the pages of our website. Also she is our profile photo. Think of her as our quirky mascot.
Web design isn’t all I do though, as you can tell from the character guide. Infact, right now I am providing all of the services. Yeah, that means it’s a one man (woman) show. That, however, does not mean you will get any worse of service. I still pride myself on providing the best service possible to all of my clients.
My passion does mainly lie with web design and it has since I was in high school. I’ve always found myself to be very creative so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to me now that I chose this path as with so much else, it is creating something from nothing. Back in high school I used to play World of Warcraft (in fact, I hope to get back into it one day) and I was the guild leader. Problem was that so many guilds had their own websites but ours did not. My guild mates and I often discussed getting a website but we didn’t want to pay someone for a website and no one in our guild knew how to make websites. So I ventured off into the internet to gain the experience and complete the quest (reference to WoW, I had to do it since I’m talking about it). I found a tutorial online for making a website in HTML and finished it but I felt I was lacking knowledge still. How could I complete the quest with my objectives left unfinished? So I found a free website service and made a guild website from a template. It worked for the time being and sparked the designer in my heart. I made a handful of different free template based websites during my time as guild leader but none of them were ever good enough. Then school and life caught up with me and I no longer had time for WoW. This was because of that spark. I started taking animation classes because I thought that was what I wanted to do. I wanted to make video games and movies like Disney. So I took a course on Flash and 3D animation. Flash was what made me decide on web design. By the end of our course we had learned the basics of flash as well as made a working website. I knew that’s what I wanted to do and that’s what I’ve been working towards ever since.
Remember, it's not just a website, it's an experience.
