Holly Hill Farm
Holly Hill Farm is our dream that has become a reality: a place to raise our babies in a healthy and sustainable way. Follow our progress as we jump head first into the great unknown! What we severely lack in experience, we make up for in enthusiasm!!
Farm Facts & History:
*Farm purchased in the early fifties by owner's grandparents, Danny & Mary McKenzie, & Dr. Dick & Mary Murphy (land was purchased as part of a larger mass consisting of most of Campbellton and the downtown core of Campbell River. Later, Danny & Dick split the land, and Danny kept the Holly Hill area. He subdivided it and kept a portion of the land as a hobby farm).
*Current owners: Kyle & Katie Denne
*Land size: 16.28 acres
*Current animals:1 horse Snickers (19 years old), and 3 alpacas named Everest (6), Fawnzie (4), & Horatio (3)
*Current project: improve pasture-land, address drainage, LEARN!!
*Future Goals: there are MANY!!!
-build a home
-build a barn/shop/suite
-build a market garden
-begin raising turkeys, cattle, horses
-learn to spin alpaca fibre
-increase salmon numbers in creek
-create a u-pick pumpkin patch
-begin farming meat and fibre rabbits
-build a 'General Store' to sell products produced on the farm
