The Abbotsford Rugby Football Club is a Canadian rugby union club based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The Abbotsford RFC was founded in 1972. There are three men's sides, a women's team, and youth teams for under 19 men, under 18 women, under 17 boys, under 16 boys, under 15 boys, under 14 boys and Mini- Rugby (ages 5–13). There have been many Abbotsford RFC players who have gone on to play representative rugby both provincially and internationally. History The Abbotsford RFC was established in 1972 and began play in the Vancouver Rugby Union for their inaugural season. The following year the club would join the newly established Fraser Valley Rugby Union. During the 1974-75 season the ARFC managed only one loss, winning the Fraser Valley Rugby Union Second Division Championship and making it all the way to the provincial Second Division Championship game playing for the prestigious Daily Province Cup. Abbotsford would end up losing the hard fought game 18-7 to the Kats. In recent years, Abbotsford rugby has been successful winning the provincial first division championships in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2010, as well as winning a second division title in 2010 and a third division title in 2004. The women's team has also been successful, having won the first division title in 2010. Men's training sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm at Yale secondary. Home games are on Saturdays at Exhibition Park in Abbotsford (Rotary Stadium).
