Jennifer Duncan Photography
My interest in photography began when my 7 year old son was diagnosed with a life threatening illness and I began documenting his journey in photos. My love of photography was born.
My Dad was always one of my biggest supporters of my photography. While he was sick with Brain Cancer I decided to invest in my first really good camera because I wanted to take photography a step further. He encouraged me to do it. He had always been an avid hobbyist (and an amazing one) and I wanted to be sure that there was no memory from that day forward that I was going to miss. I go nowhere without my camera.
Children are my favourite to photograph and are no stranger to me....I have five of them, all under age 12. I LOVE kids, of all ages, shapes, sizes and of course I love a challenge.
I have an extensive background working with children and adults with special needs. I am college educated (Child and Youth Worker) University Educated (Psychology) and have worked in multidisciplinary settings working with clients (many with Autism) with high needs. I am also the mother of a child with Autism and the sister of and adult brother with Autism, global developmental delays and OCD. My goal is to combine my love of photography and my love of special people and provide an opportunity for all people to have their portraits taken, with no time limit. I will provide an open, loving and FUN environment with no pressure. Photos should be a pressure free time and I aim to provide that, especially when dealing with special needs clients and families.
