Zach Havens - Piano Teacher
When most people think of a piano teacher, images of a strict elderly woman snapping instructions and directions at a bewildered child comes to mind. We've all seen the movies or talked to friends who have had negative experiences with an insensitive teacher, ruining what should be an exciting and rapturing experience.
My teaching style couldn't be more different.
I was schooled with a huge focus on classical music, following the examinations of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. At the age of 16, I completed the entire program, gaining my associateship in piano performance with that institution. Since then, I have taken my technical experience and directed it towards song writing, leading a band, touring the country, gaining international radio play, and learning as much as possible about music and how it affects others. Through all of my time spent in front of a piano, I have come to fall in love with the instrument
As a teacher, my goal is to create a love of music in my students. Whether that means studying Beethoven and Bach or learning how to play the latest Justin Timberlake song, I do everything in my power to connect and engage with my students. It is my goal to help my students reach their maximum musical potential and to have a blast in the process!
Music is one of the most brilliant things on this planet. The piano is absolutely the most foundational instrument, and whether you are a brand new player or a seasoned musician, it is my privilege to join with you on this incredible journey of music.
