I am currently certifying as a postpartum doula. A postpartum doula's job changes from day to day, as the needs of the family change. Postpartum doulas do whatever a mother needs to best enjoy and care for her new baby.
Postpartum Doulas:
offer education, quiet non-judgmental support, and companionship during the postpartum period.
assist with newborn care, family adjustment, meal preparation, and light household chores.
offer(if wanted) evidenced-based information on:
– infant feeding
– emotional and physical recovery from childbirth
– infant soothing
– coping skills for new parents
provide appropriate referrals when necessary.

I am currently a first time mom with a 9 month old son. After having my son I realized that I wanted to help moms have a wonderful postpartum experience, enjoying their new bundle of joy and helping moms in anyway they need so they can build a beautiful bond with their baby and enjoy the precious moments.
