The historic, seaside Village of Cowichan Bay is located in one of the premier sailing & cruising areas in the world. The Gulf Islands and eastern shores of Vancouver Island are unique in the boating world. Wilderness and rugged west coast beauty are combined with a well-developed infrastructure for marine tourism.

Salish Sea Gallery proudly displays unique hand-crafted items made by artists living on and around Vancouver Island. You will find original paintings by island artists Bernadette McCormack, Brian Scott, and Jim Jenkins. We also have a wonderful selection of limited edition framed prints by local artist Sue Coleman. Mayne Island glass artist Mark Lauckner's colourful starfish and soap dishes decorate the shelves, and local potter Hilary Huntley's fine and functional pottery appeals to everyone. Salish Sea Gallery also offers an exciting collection of mounted and framed prints by E.J. Hughes.

From a condemned fuel loading dock to a museum, the pier now houses "Galleries" rich in maritime history. It's all here in the quaint seaside village of Cowichan Bay, British Columbia. With a reputation for excellence, the Maritime Centre offers hands on courses in traditional boat building techniques and restoration. Skillfully hand-crafted models of historic ships are housed in the museum at the end of the pier. Activities are for any age, sea-farer or land-lubber alike.
